Things to Do Prior to Your Move

Anticipating a move often prompts stress and anxiety. Did I make the right decision, will I like my new place, or can I get everything organized in time for the big day are just some of the things that can make you feel uneasy.

It’s a lot to deal with and having an adequate amount of time and patience, coupled with the right people to provide assistance, can go a long way to ensuring that your move is as painless as possible.

Of course, one of the things you should think about right from the beginning is what you are going to take to your new home and what you might wish to sell, give away, or dispose of as ecologically as possible.

It makes no sense to incur the expense and hassle of moving furniture you no longer want or need. The same holds for flatware and tableware, jewelry, watches, and other collectibles.

Think of it this way, if you’ve been storing something in the basement, garage, or attic and will be moving it simply because you don’t know what else to do with it, there is a better way!

The first step is to find out if the item(s) have value. Of course, I hope you connect with Syl-lee to do just that, but regardless, this is your first step in the process!

Once you determine if the items can be sold, we can take it from there.

If the items are not saleable, we can recommend reputable companies that can give away or discard the items, with the main concern being to keep them out of the landfill.

We know that oftentimes these items have sentimental value and we understand that it can be difficult to part with them. Depending on the situation, you might decide to bring them with you and make the decision to sell or give them away at a later time.

We understand but, in the meantime, wouldn’t you agree that it makes good sense to know your options before coming to any final decision.

We hope to speak with you.
